GS105PE Not allowing firmware upgrade
When I try to put the switch into bootloader mode to upgrade the firmware, the switch stops responding to pings, and refuses to allow me to do anything with it until I reboot it. Traffic continues to flow, but management is disabled. This happens whether I do it via HTTP or via the Configuration Utility. I have to reboot the switch to regain management access.
Switch is currently running the following versions:
Bootloader Version V1.6.0.2-VB
Firmware Version V1.6.0.6
From my old notes - many months passed since updating bunches of GS105PE- I've seen the switch rebooting and entering into the loader mode. In this state, a Web form is called, allowing to upload the new firmware image.
Worth a try is to update the switch in the off-network mode, without a DHCP server on the LAN, just connected to a PC adapter, configuring the PC to e.g. to a static IP address of 192.168.0.123 and 255.255.255.0 as the subnet mask, and then access the GS105PE on http://192.168.0.239/
Note: If you are unsure how to do this, it's all in the RT*M, Gigabit Ethernet Plus Switches User Manual, in the "Access a switch that is off-network" P.19 ff.Here I'm at my wits end on this...

Wild guess, based on some previous community member posts, it appears your unknown Web browser dos not start the firmware upload form again, after changing to loader mode.
Try an alternate Web browser, like Chrome for example.

I have tried using Chrome, Firefox, (and gag, even Edge) as well as the ProSafe Plus Utility to do the update, it always does the same thing, stops responding, and has to be rebooted to get the switch back.
