ReadyNAS NV+ v1, RAID1 Drive 1 bad
I have a pretty old ReadyNAS NV+ v1, set up with 2 drives, 1TB each, in a RAID 1 configuration. The display now reads Booting... basically forever. I've taken the drives out and checked them with Sea...

The NAS should boot up with disk 2 in slot 2 (with slot 1 empty). Have you tried that?

That is a start - and when it fails, the drive is certainly dead. But it is not enough to confirm that a disk is working. I've had drives pass that test, but fail the full test.

I have not tried that yet, but will today. I didn't want to potentially corrupt any data without knowing what to try first.
