I did a bit of googling on this and both fans appear to have the mounting holes at 82.5mm centres, so you should be OK

I just wanted to add a short addendum to this which might serve as a precautionary note for others (something I've belatedly realsed in retrospect). Immediately before the fan noise began, I dismanted the unit to clear it of accumulated dust. I sprayed the whole case liberally with compressed air, including the fan - which span up to an enormously rapid rotation rate. In my ignorance I hadn't appreciated that I could inflict damage this way, but that's clearly what happened; I overburdened the fan assembly. It may well have gone on to give many more years of service otherwise.
