ReadyNAS OS 6, Remote admin config
I did a firmware update from OS4 to OS6 Successfully.
My question is if i can somehow configure a user or such to let my friend login as admin or either a normal user with admin permissions to help me setup my NAS. I hope you understand my kinda question.
I understand that open up the NAS to worldwide would not be good thing so i thought maybe i can use port forwarding in my router to just allow incomming connections from his WAN-ip ?
Have i missunderstood or are there a better way? Maybe there is a Netgear addon for this?

If you set up ReadyCloud on the NAS, then your friend could use that. You'd need to give him the NAS admin credentials though

Routers I've owned don't let you filter inbound connections that way.

A VPN is what you want here. ReadyCloud is a VPN and then some. Many routers have VPN capability built in. I personally use ZeroTier to administer my backup NAS at my brother's house 3 states away, though the ReadyNAS-specific app for it is getting quite old.

Aha.. okey!
Cant use ReadyCloud it seems. The device needs to be registered it says when i try to upgrade my mynetgear account.
Since the device is bought used previous owner has allready registered it and i cant register. So ReadyCloud cant be used.
So i need to look into some other services.
ZeroTier, is it free to use?
