Hi guys,
I've actually been a readynas user since before the netgear acquisition with a 4 disk drive bay (that died a long time ago). I'm certain i'm out of warranty, but yeah i'll try to replace the psu and then maybe update the whole nas. If I do the migration will it just be some metadata changes or will it have to rewrite all the stripes?

The x86 OS6 NAS can mount the pro volume read-only, but that is only to allow you to copy off the data.
After that it's a complete wipe/restripe.
It still uses mdadm raid, but the file system is BTRFS, not EXT. There are other differences in the data volume setup - for instance, apps are installed to the data volume instead of the OS partition.
BTW It is possible to switch your Pro-6 over to OS6 also (when/if you get it working agin).
