Readynas PRO file transfer problem

Hello.

I recently purchased a used ReadyNAS Pro and started using it, but I have a question about one strange thing.

I use Readynas by starting it up when I need it and turning it off when I am done.
However, I have found that the first time I copy a file to Readynas after it starts, the transfer rate always drops to 0 bps.
Immediately after copying starts, it drops to 0bps, then about 30 seconds later, it rises to 110MB/s and the copying is completed to the end.
This phenomenon does not occur on the second and subsequent copies. (The speed is 110 MB/s from the beginning to the end.)

This occurs only once after Readynas is started.

I have confirmed the following points.

 1) Increased ReadyNAS memory to 2GB.
   → The time to drop to 0 bps increased by a few seconds, but the result is the same.

 2) PC and Readynas are directly connected by LAN cable.
   →The result is the same.

 3) The MTU of the PC was set to 1500 bytes. (The original MTU was 9000)
   -> Result is the same.

 4) Enabled the jumbo frame of PC and Readynas, and set it to 9000.
  -> Result is the same.

 5)I transferred from another PC to Readynas.
  →The result is the same.

Readynas OS is 4.2.31, PC is Windows 10 22H2.

Please let me know if you find a solution.

  • Do you have disk spindown enabled on the NAS?

    BTW, you can convert your NAS to run OS-6 firmware.

      Dear StephenB.

       Thank you for your reply.

      I have disabled the HDD spin down.
      By the way, I have also enabled the write cache setting.

      I do not have this problem with the Readynas 316 that I own, so it is certainly possible that the OS6 conversion is valid. (I thought about it for a bit myself.)

      However, when I converted my old Readynas Ultra6 to OS6, I had a problem where it stopped responding after 3-4 hours of continuous writing, so I have cold feet.

        Did you upgrade the stock RAM from 1 GB to 2-4 GB?
