ReadyNAS Pro Pioneer PSU fan

I am not aware of any 6-bay legacy PSU that uses a 3-pin fan.
In this post ReadyNAS-Pro-6-Power-Supply-FAN-replacement, the poster does not plug the Noctua fan into the connector the old one used, he connects it externally to one of the 4-pin Molex connectors via an adapter.
The PSU fan does not utilize the tachometer (normally yellow wire) signal. So another option (if it fits) is to just connect the red and black wires to the original connector and leave the yellow hanging off. If that won't fit, you can remove the pins from the new one and insert them into the shell for the old one or cut off the new and splice on the old one.
