I have done all you suggested. I even deleted the user and created a new one with which I managed to log in. That part is ok. But when I go to Readynas remote admin to discover devices nothing happens. No devices are regisered and none is discovered.
It says offline discovery and installation can be dine via Raidar, but where i n the Raidar menu can i find this option?
Please walk me through this procedure!

Do you mean ReadyCloud discovery? ReadyCloud is available for ReadyNAS OS6 devices only.
For legacy devices such as yours you can use the ReadyNAS Remote app to remotely access your NAS.

Thank you.
Is the ReadyNAS Remote app that you mention a PC app or an Android app?
And can you please gove me a link to it?
Most importantly: Does legacy in real life mean outdated and close to useless? ;)

PC app.
There is/was also an Android one.
If you go to https://remote.readynas.com you will see links to download the Windows and Mac clients.

App might be used loosely, so I hope this covers part that might be in question:
The desktop client has the download option both located at the bottom of https://remote.readynas.com/ .
The android app is available on the play store:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.netgear.remote
There is the add-on or app that you can get downloaded from http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/20928 .
Legacy would mean it is the previous generation. Outdated might the the easy way to put it. (There are cases where we make security updates.)- NitupsarJul 31, 2015Aspirant
Ok, I understand.
I have now uninstalled (I had it already installed but reinstalling never hurts) and freshly installed the Readynas remote app/program for PC. And it says I am online.
When I start the Readynas remote program an icon comes up that is called Readycloud agent. This is confusing to me if these are two separate programs and the Readycloud program is incompatible with my Ultra 4 hardware .
When I right click on this icon I see the meny and when I choose Readynas admin I get a window called Readynas remote which lists my devices which are 0 (zero) online and 0 (zero) offline. My next question is then: How do I get Readynas remote to recognize and register my device?PS The Readynas device shows up on my network and I can access all my files.
