This is a 2-bay Pro 2?
You can do an OS reinstall from the front panel boot menu - see pages 14-15 here: https://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/GDC/RNDU2000/ReadyNAS_Ultra_UltraPlus_NVX_Pro_HW_en_8July11.pdf
Be careful NOT to do a factory default, as that will destroy your data.
The OS reinstall will reset the network configuration to use DHCP, and will also reset the admin password back to the factory default. If your NAS is running 4.2.x firmware, that will be netgear1. If you converted the NAS to run OS-6 firmware, it would be password.
If you aren't running RAID-0, you could also try connecting one of the disks to a PC, and use R-linux for Windows. https://www.r-studio.com/free-linux-recovery/

If you are using Windows 10, you'll need to enable the SMB 1/CIFS client in the PC (go into "turn windows features on or off").
Or enable FTP as a filesharing protocol, and use FileZilla or WinSCP to access the files.
