As usual ... on the Windows 10 system, search "features" (works on any langauge), find something like "Windows-Features enable or disable", look for SMB 1.0/CIFS file sharing, tick SMB 1.0/CIFS Client and SMB 1.0/CIFS Server, and confirm.

You can access with Internet Explorer, Edge in IE mode, or with an old browser (configured to block automatic updates). Firefox 94.0.2 definitely works.
Once you have access, you can install the add-on for 4.2.x firmware at rnxtras.com. That will add TLS 1.2 support to your NAS.
Though I think a better solution is convert the Ultra to run OS 6. That would require a small investment to upgrade the RAM.

Thank you for your advice. I have not tried this one yet, but If I decide to keep using the NAS I might consider this.
