ReadyNAS Ultra 2 doesn't start properly
I am having trouble accessing my ReadyNAS Ultra 2, after both original disks chrashed, about one year apart. The disks were 2 TB Seagate Barracuda, and had been running for 6-7 years when one of the...

If you are attempting to do a USB recovery, it doesn't sound like you are doing it properly, as you should not be parttitioning the drive manually at all. This is the process: RAIDiator-4-2-USB-Recovery-Tool. As those instructions say, the flash drive must be no more than 32GB, but I've had the best luck with 8GB or smaller. Older is usually better and definately no USB3. There can also only be one partition -- some have a hidden one that is reserved and will cause problems.

I read about the partitioning with Rufus in an older post in the community. Rechecking the post, it was about custom firmware. Thorough reading is a good idea :-) I have followed the USB Recovery Tool trying eight (!) different USB sticks, with no luck. Some of tje sticks have activity indicators, and the only blink once about 10-12 seconds after start ut, and then again after 30 seconds. I let the NAS run for 45 minutes each time, just to be sure.
I have also tried to reload the OS twice, but the NAS is still unaccessible.

This statement confuses me, as the only way to re-load the OS on an "unreachable" NAS is via USB recovery, which you say isn't working.
Can you reach the NAS Admin GUI? The NAS is unreachable via what protocol(s)?

Sorry, I was a bit clumsy with words. I meant the OS reinstall option in the boot menu.
I cannot reach the Admin GUI at all. My web browser (Microsoft Edger) reports' Error Connection Refused'. In my router's LAN Hosts list, the NAS is listed as 'Unknown'.
