Think I just got pissed at this cause it first worked an got happy to set it up, nothing works and spend hours on trying to access it, kinda took my happiness away đ
But i hope im wrong about it!
Na not just one, found several across the web. and I know it's an old unit but when it worked afew hours before it makes no sense for me that this happend now.
Can't access any mode, tried to press reset for several minutes, both with discs and without.
Very greatful for all the help about this

If it doesn't boot to boot menu with reset held, it's not a vpd problem. But the menu is also in the flash ROM, so it could be a flash issue. While I don't see a reason why it would have become corrupt, a USB recovery may help: RAIDiator-4-2-USB-Recovery-Tool. I have my doubts because you usually get some sort of message with a corrupt flash, but it's free to try and won't make anything worse.
Note that although your NAS has been updated to OS6, you still must use the 4.2 tool. If you want to restore it to OS6, then you have to use a re-named OS6 image instead of an OS4.2 one. Or you could restore it to OS4.2 and then use a spare drive to convert back to OS6 if the recovery works. But do back up your vpd file before you convert.
I will warn you that your NAS is very picky about what USB drive you use. Basically, the older the better. It absolutely cannot be USB3 or >32GB, and I stick with ones 2 to 8 GB.
Since you can't run the RAM test, you may just want to try replacing it. DDR2 RAM is dirt cheap these days. If your NAS has two RAM sticks (meaning the previous user upgraded it), you could try with just one, then the other.

Can you better describe "Doesn't work"? Do you see any indication on the display that it's doing anything? If the USB is equipped with an indicator LED, do you see it being accessed (even briefly)?

Only have one usb with led, nothing changes, like it dosent want to read it. The display never changes from Readynas...

If the LED on the USB drive doesn't even blip, then I think your NAS is not getting past POST. Trying different memory is your next best option if you have some. There is also a VGA header on the motherboard that, with the proper adapter and monitor, can let you see what's happening or not happening during boot.
