Request for OS6: Serviio 1.3.1 (Media Streaming Server)
Hi add-on developers,
I have a community request to make Serviio (link: http://serviio.org) available for the ReadyNAS OS6 platform both ARM and x86.
I had serveral NAS systems in the past and tried basically every Media Server available and in the end Serviio is the best one available.
It has the best transcoding and streaming functionality available, especially for streaming to SmartTVs and game consoles (e.g. PS3).
Please consider to make this add-on for ReadyNAS OS6!
Thank you,
Fremske

- fremskeGuideHello Super-poussin,
Fantastic work, thanks a lot!!
This really adds more value to my ReadyNAS device.
Will the app also be made available via the APP Marketplace repository within the OS6?
Thanks.
Fremske - super_poussinVirtuosothere's no more market place

I have submitted it to Netgear : Waiting for approval but I have no delay - saketbAspirantSuper-poussin,
Making Serviio compatible with ReadyNAS especially with RN104 is a great work. :worship:
As instructed I installed the server from your dropbox into my NAS-RN104 (6.1.4) and the console part in my PC. When running the console, it connects successfully to the server (NAS) but when I share any media folders (MP3 & Flac) nothing appears on my Samsung TV (profile selected correctly). The TV shows the DLNA server but when entering into it and browsing the respective folders, the folders are empty.
Even at the console after sharing the media folders, I re-scanned the folders and re-started the server after saving, even then nothing comes up.
Am I missing something here? Any guidance would be very helpful.
Thank you. - saketbAspirantBumping this thread for further guidance for Serviio to work with RN104.
Thanks. - super_poussinVirtuosoHello

Hi everyone,
Serviio 1.4 is now just released and it is depending on two main components that need to be compiled and installed first to run Serviio 1.4:
1. Jave SE version 6 or 7, this should be all ready installed by default on your NAS because it is part of the OS6 to run the Netgear APP store.
Needs to be complied for Debian Wheezy using the below walkthrough.
2a. FFmpeg (post) 1.2.1 or higher, using this source code: http://download.serviio.org/opensource/ffmpeg-N-54096-ge41bf19.tar.gz
2b. libRTMP 2.4+ compiled using this source code http://download.serviio.org/opensource/rtmpdump.tar.gz
2c. Lame MP3 Encoder (v. 3.99.5) compiled using this source code http://download.serviio.org/opensource/lame-3.99.5.tar.gz
2d. LibASS
2e. libx264
2f. ibmp3lame
For Super-Poussin, see link to the walk through in how to compile the FFmpeg package for Linux: http://wiki.serviio.org/doku.php?id=build_ffmpeg_linux
3. Last step is to install Serviio 1.4 compiled in deb. for this source code: http://download.serviio.org/releases/serviio-1.4-linux.tar.gz
I hope Super-Poussin is able to pull this of because Serviio is really awesome for the ReadyNAS community.
Good luck!
Cheers,
Fremske.
