rn102 esata SSD not showing up

I'm plugging a brand new Intel M.2 540S series SSD into the external esata via an adapter card with associated ESATA connector and USB for power.

The device is unformated.

I can see the device on a PC... but did not fomat the device.

I can't see the device on the NAS.

Is this a supported device?  Should i initialize in Windows or so first?

Running latest ReadyNas FW.

Thanks!

  • The system is RN102, not 204.

After formating the unintialized SSD in a Windows7 system, now the esata works!

It does not have a read/write performance any better than the RAID.  Will look for any comments on other threads...

    Thanks
