RN102 hard drives Seagate ST3000DM001 are became not compatible

Hi All,

I've bought an NAS RN102 on Novembers of 2014o with 2 hard drives seagate ST3000DM001. In December of 2015 , I bought a new hard drive ST3000DM001 , I wanted to test the hot changing hard drive with that NAS. But , I've had immediatly a lot of message like :

High number of product failures reallocated sector impending disk

I used the support of netgear  which indicate me that this new disk is failed !!!

So, I sent this disk to my provider . Then, I've ordered an other disk by an other provider .

I'm testing this morning  the new hard drive ST3000DM001 , and the same error message "grrr":catsad:

Then , on several forum I discover that this hard drive is now not compatible with my NAS. It's incredible. My NAS is running with both old hard drive  ST3000DM001 (those hard drives was compatible , I had taken a snapshot of the request to verify the compatibility )

I've lost a lot of time and money. What do you think about this result Netgear ?

If a disk model has been around some time it is a good idea to have a look at opinions of it online before purchasing. Contrary to what some believe not all disks are equal. Different disks work better in different use cases than others.
