RN104 to RN424 Upgrade has App Problem

I first updated both the RN104 and the RN424 to the latest firmware 6.10.8. Then transferred the disks from the Arm box to the x86 box. Booted up and everything seemed to be working as expected.

Then I noticed that the SMB Plus app was missing on the RN424. But when I tried to install it, I can't find it in the list of available apps.

Reinstalled OS and still SMB Plus is not there. Also noticed that Plex is not available. I had installed that a couple of years ago on the RN104, but then removed it.

Any ideas about what's going on? I have a duplicate RN424 at work that has the SMB Plus app installed. I'm trying to have a backup NAS at home with all the same features as the work NAS.

The RN104 uses an ARM CPU, the RN424 uses Intel (x86).  Netgear supports migration of disks between the platforms for the NAS software itself, but they cannot migrate the apps to use a different CPU.

FWIW, it can also take some time for the apps to show up in the NAS web ui.  You can try installing SMB plus from https://apps.readynas.com/pages/?page_id=9.  You could install plex from the plex.tv download - though if you aren't using it, then I wouldn't install it.

      Thanks, Stephen.

Downloading from that website and installing it worked.
