RN204 and Windows XP
Hi -
Im new a network guy - but am trying to help a friend out
windows X machine, cant see the NAS (RN204)...
other machines in his office can (win7 and win10)... so, i think RN204 is set ...

Is the issue about discovery or access?
That is, if you enter \\nas-ip-address in the Windows Explorer address bar, does it show you the share list?

its discovery and access - as I cant see any of it
when I enter \\192.168.1.7 (NAS address) - it returns a not found.
I figure its some network setting on the XP computer ...
any ideas?

What happens if you open a dos box and enter
net use * /delete
net use t: \\192.168.1.7\data /user:admin nas-admin-password
Be careful on slash directoin and spaces.

You should update from XP to a newer version of Windows. Although Microsoft took a highly unusual step recently to release a security update for Windows XP you can't expect to get security updates for it now the extended support is over.
