Welcome to the Community!
Have you checked if the NAS is booting up completely? Do you have any errors on the LCD screen?
Do you have your Network router working again? You may want to reconnect the NAS and Computer back to the Network and see if the NAS will be able to get a new IP address.
Kindly check as well if the NAS Ethernet port does get activity, trying the second Ethernet port might help as well. RAIDar should detect the NAS and provide the status and let you access it.
If you still don't have your router, connecting your PC to the NAS without setting up any static IP would do, RAIDar should detect the NAS on 169 IP since those are APIPA. The IPs are assigned automatically if no DHCP servers are detected.
If you still can't detect or access the NAS after the steps, try to boot the NAS on Read only mode to check if it will be accessible. Otherwise, contacting Support is advisable if you need it to be replaced or to have it working.

What LED status are you seeing on the ethernet LED on the NAS (and router LAN port)?

Thanks for the reply - on the readynas I get (1) flashing green led and (1) steady green. It's connected to a switch which is directly connected to the router. Connection on switch is flashing green.

Ok. And disconnecting/reconnecting the ethernet connection doesn't give you a valid IP address for your subnet?
