What LED status are you seeing on the ethernet LED on the NAS (and router LAN port)?

Thanks for the reply - on the readynas I get (1) flashing green led and (1) steady green.It's connected to a switch which is directly connected to the router. Connection on switch is flashing green.

Ok. And disconnecting/reconnecting the ethernet connection doesn't give you a valid IP address for your subnet?
