RN21400 stuck in Booting mode for over 15 hours
Hi all I bought this in 2018 and fitted 4 x 2tb WD RED drives. All hasw been well until last night. I bought a 8tb backup drive for the NAS, but had to move it slightly to get access to the USB2 so...

It sounds like you will need to forcibly power down.
I suggest powering up w/o the new USB drive.

I suspect that the NAS might have been trying to boot from the USB drive.
Some drives have a small partition that has (optional) security software. So maybe connect the USB drive to a windows PC and run the windows disk manager. Then remove all the partitions (called "volumes" in the disk manager) and create a new partition. If you want NTFS, then format the drive in Windows. Otherwise reformat it in the NAS.
