You can't bypass that check (and the OS is reinstalled onto the root FS). It's clear something is very wrong, I suggest powering down the NAS and not letting it continue.
Can you follow up with more information on what the original problems were?

Hi Stephen B
Recently changed my password for some reason and could not get into Admin page after with either new or old password. It was recommended I try to do OS reinstall to fix the issue. Now it's stuck "checking root FS" . I tried updating FW through Readycloud home page and nothing happens after clicking on "UPDATE". Any suggestions?

Could be a full root volume.
So you didn’t have a password recovery question setup?

That is the strange part of it. It didn't go through the protocol asking me for recovery questions. The reason I had to change it because the old one stop working. So went through the steps to creating new PW but never went thorugh recovery process.
