Thanks for the reply,
Yep, i have tried pulling the drives but i still get the same result, the LCD displays "Netgear storage welcome" then the touch pad lights up for 2-3 seconds, then it repeats, and the fan is at full speedthe whole time.
I have a usb stick with an LED, and it flashes once quickly when first inserted but then nothing there after, not even on the next loop, only when first inserted.
I have seen a few people have had a similar experience, any ideas on what the cause may be? i have tested the power supply and all output voltages look to be within tolerance, not that that rules out an issue on current draw.
Would a fault with the RAM cause this kind of issue? or is it likely something else?

I've managed to connect to the UART on the back, Can anyone confirm the pinouts on the 516? Ive currently found pins 1 & 2 to be TX and RX
Using Putty im receiving the following:
"ERROR: Type:2; Severity:80; Class:3; Subclass:2; Operation: 1000"
Any ideas as to what the error message is pointing to?

Thanks for the ping, StephenB.
Hi Diggers,
Based on the error message, it looks like an error with the software, specifically its PEI Core.
Not quite sure though if that's the main cause of the issue, that being said, are there any other logs when you were connected via Putty?
