RN516 and printing to an HP LaserJet 4P.
Using ReadyNAS 516 with OS Vers 6.2.2 and wish to print from the NAS to an old printer HP LaserJet 4p. The NAS box only uses USB connections, and the LJ 4P has either Centronics or RS232C connections...
..... and here we are 2 weeks later. It broke my heart but my beloved HP Laser Jet 4P is at the dump, along with the several Kg of Large floor standing Pentium 3 (circa 1999 at cost of £3K), along with the USB to RS232 cable and other minor bits and pieces.
I have more room in my 'garage room' and a new mono HP LaserJet (wireless and double sided).
So the moral of the story is "stand back and see the broader picture" as I have spent hours trying to get the old equipment to work to no avail, and what were we talking about £200 tops.
