SMBv1 Error

I am having a heck of a time connecting to shares on my windows 10 pro pc.

When mapping drive, I received a SMBv1 error.... looking into this, it seems my version of ReadyNAS (RNDP4000) is out of date....

However, my firmware level is the latest available on the download site.

I am able to use the browser to see files, but it is not very user friendly....

Any one come acroess this and find a work around so we can use 'explore', map drives and nav to NAS?

  • If you are running 4.2.x firmware, then you need to enable the SMB 1 client in the PC.  You can do this in "turn windows features on or off".

The other option is to convert your NAS to OS 6.  That will require reformatting your disks, so you would need to restore all your files from a backup.  You would also lost Netgear support.
