update rnd2150v2 from raidar 4.1.1.6 to raidiator arm 5.3.11

okay oldtimers...I need your help...

I have a rnd2150v2 (yes v2 and for some reason it never shows up on any previous model).  It is stamped on the back with a sticker rnd2150v2.

Everything is working okay but i need to ask the "knowledgeable ones" some questions because my old brain is not kicking in here.

1)  if I currently have raidar 4.1.1.6 firmware installed and it works fine but I'm interested in the raidiator-arm 5.3.11.  Is it possible to use this?  I read a few places that this will work and the layout is interesting.  Like I said though the raidar 4.1.1.6 is totally working fine.  Please let me know if I am getting into somewhere I shouldn't go because I mainly use this for my home networking and really don't want to screw all that up....just interested in the know hows...

thanks for you time and I hope to hear back any interesting info...

  • Raidiator 4.1.1.6 firmware is the correct firmware version for your ReadyNAS

Raidiator 5.3.11. is NOT, so do not even go there

      4.1.16 :smileywink:

CRUZZIN7  The v2 label doesn't mean that you think it does.  You have a sparc-based NAS (called a v1 here).  The Arm based NAS (which does run 5.3.x firmware) would say "Duo v2" on the front chassis - not buried in the part number.
