USB ignored
readynas nv+
raidiator 4.1.8
Today the ReadyNAS decided that USB flash disks suck and refuses to acknowledge their existence. This is just after having run a set of backups to a USB flash disk.
I unplugged the USB unit with the fresh backup, plugged another one in, "USB Disk Connect" appeared on the display. Going to the Volumes tab of Frontview and selecting USB Storage offered this result: "No USB storage devices detected." I get the same result for the USB unit I had just removed.
What is now necessary to convince the readynas that USB disk are OK?

- PapaBear1ApprenticeThere could be a signature problem since you are using a flash drive and it is expecting to see a USB external drive. I have never had any problems using an external USB drive. One thing you can probably do is to insert the USB flash drive into your PC and copy the files over to it from the NAS manually using copy/paste.
