I'm sure this is the latest firmware for the RE3. The first drive set I had was at 03.00C05. If you check online with Google, you'll see many current references to the RE3 with 03.00C06 firmware. There are no references to the number cited on that WD document.
Irregardless, the RE3 has been on the HCL since 2/09. It's likely that these drives passed QA with older firmware than currently ships. I don't know if that might be the cause of the problem but if something changed since 2/09, perhaps that's a place to look.
