The datasheets are written for the original release of the product and may/may not be updated afterwards. Even if they are updated many resellers don't bother to update their pages with the new information.
The 10TB and 12TB disks were released well after the RN214. If disks are on the compatibility list then it means that we've verified compatibility with using them with the current firmware at the time they were added to the list.
Sometimes new disks may result in us needing to do firmware updates to address compatibility issues.
Some high capacity disks may not fit in using the toolless sled. So you may need to remove that and use the drive tray screws to secure the disk.
