(a) All three NAS are much faster than your duo v1
(b) The Pro is now considered legacy. However, a new purchase would still have a 5 year warranty. The Pro's web UI is very similar to the duo v1 (though you cannot migrate your existing disks to it). The Pro has a higher performance CPU than the RN102/RN104.
(c) The RN102/RN104 both use the new OS6 firmware. They are fast more than fast enough for media streaming, but they are not capable of on-the-fly media transcoding. Though your duo v1 isn't capable of that either. The RN102/RN104 would have a 3 year warranty (the RN3xx and RN5xx have a 5 year, but are more expensive).
OS6 has some benefits - ReadyCloud and more useful snapshots are (in my opinion) the most useful. And it is more "future proof" than the pro would be, since the pro is already in the legacy category for Netgear.
On the other hand, the pro's administration and features will be more familiar to you, it has a longer warranty, and is a faster NAS than the RN1xx line. If you want higher performance, longer warranty and OS6, get an RN3xx or RN5xx.
BTW, it is possible to run OS6 on a pro, but that is not supported by Netgear,
On your final question - you could reuse the 500 GB drives, but if you are using the default XRAID2 raid mode, you would need to install the 500 GB drives first. That's the case with both the RN104 and a pro-4.
