Another Transmission will not work thread...

I have been using Transmission frequently, however a while ago I stopped being able to download but the uploading continued. Today I've been busy trying to make things work again but to no avail. I reinstalled the latest Transmission and now it won't even connect to the server.
I have a Readynas Duo connected to a Thomson TG 784 Router/modem.
I have tried several settings.json changes but to no good. Port ranges on the router are to accept both tcp and udp on both 9091 and 51413 and it's uPnP is checked.
If I dismiss the "Connection Failed" on Transmission web interface and open preferences I can glimpse it is all blank before it disappears and "connection failed" reappears.

- I realized I forgot to delete the old transmission folder - did and made a reinstall from light version and a couple of early ones. It did work, however only with remote gui and now I have the latest transmission installed. Same though, only through the remote gui does it work. Cannot seem to get it to work through the readynas transmission or right throug with a webpage as http://192.168.1.100:8181. (somehow it reverted back to port 8181 through the reinstall in the .json settings)
What's wrong? Anyone?
