Bit rot has detected an error

Both of these are files on the OS partition, not on the data volume - so recreating the data volume wouldn't help.
You could
- do a full factory reset, reconfigure, and build the NAS from scratch
- use Netgear paid support (my.netgear.com)
- use ssh, and attempt to delete these files on your own.
If your company purchased the NAS new between June 1, 2014 and May 31, 2016 then you have lifetime free chat support, so you could try using that.

Thanks for the advise. I performed factory reset and the errors have disappeared.
