Can't get Transmission to work... (SOLVED)

I'm a newbie when it comes to NAS and the world of Linux, and have some problems with getting Transmission to work...

I have a Readynas Ultra 4, and using Firefox on Win 7 64-bit. (Latest firmware for the NAS, and latest Frontview installed)

I downloaded Transmission, and expecting it was like "all the other apps", I went ahead and ticked the box under installed addons in Frontview, and clicked Save. Nothing happened and Frontview just "froze". (The littel blue "clock" was spinning for about 10 min, but nothing else worked...) So I went to the forum, and it seamed like I had to edit a few parameters in the settings.json file befor enabeling the addon. (http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=24272) The explanation was not very good I felt, but from what I understood I had to remove some info (location, watch-dir etc.). Anyways, this is what the settings.json file looks like after I edited it:

}

I then tried to reenable the addon, but still no luck, the same thing happened.

I tried to remove the addon, thinking that I could download it again, but clicking the remove button produces the same result, spinning blue "clock", and frontview freezes. As a last resort I tried to delete the "addons-config" and "webroot" folders on my NAS, but can't do it, there is no delete option in windows. (Taking ownership of the folder did not allow me to delete it eighter...)

So, questions:
1. Is my settings.json file correct?
2. How do I remove Transmission if I can't get it to work?

  • by default if you change nothing it will work with standard password and file location

    if it takes time to install it's simply because transmission is downloading the ipfilter list at install so you are "protected"
  • Ok, something must have gone wrong then, because I tried to install it without changing anything at forst, but the instalation seamed to "hang"...

    And now I can't delete it...

    Is there a way ta manualy delete Transmission, so I can download it again and try another install?
  • Nevermind, got it to work now, I did not do anything, but suddenly it worked by itself... :)
