Dropbox ?
Dropbox is a very handy service for keeping files in sync across multiple computers and it support Windows, Mac, and Linux. I have only tested in Windows so far, but I use Linux as well and might use Mac eventually as well; I would really like to have a share on my Readynas that automatically stays in sync with a folder on all my computers.
Does anyone know if Dropbox can be installed on the Readynas, and if an addon might be possible, if not does anyone know of another free service that can be installed on the Readynas?

- super_poussinVirtuosoit's require gtk :(
- MadlenerAspirantStaying in sync with my ReadyNAS no matter where I am without the hassle of a VPN, backup software, slow windows explorer interface when connecting remotely to the ReadyNAS etc etc
Dropbox would be a great ReadyNAS addon.
Is the gtk requirement something which is not doable on the ReadyNAS?
Thanks for considering :-) - MastacheataAspirantI think a better starting point than the graphical dropbox client would be the available Libraries for accessing the Dropbox REST API.
There are official libraries available for Python, Java, Ruby and Objective-C as well as 3rd party libraries for PHP and Perl.
I haven't seen python or ruby for ReadyNAS but the PHP library looks promising. - chirpaLuminaryThere is a CLI version of Dropbox. Myself and WhoCares? have been running it for a few months now. This is because the dropbox devs provide an x86 binary. There is no option available at this time for Sparc-based systems (Duo,NV+). viewtopic.php?f=23&t=37709

I already tried to gently push them in the sparc direction ... but maybe if a Jedi spoke to them that would help more? ;) From what I can see in the binaries, it shouldn't be too hard for them to provide a version that would run on the NV(+)/Duo/.... If need be I could even help them with that, signing NDAs has become a habit here ...
-Stefan - WhoCares_MentorWow. I guess that could be something like your personal Google cache in reverse. See what you could have in your Dropbox if the ReadyNAS would eventually send it :-D
And in reality: that would probably work but just isn't good enough for an add-on.
-Stefan - egeekAspirantHas all/any development in this space ceased?
- WhoCares_MentorNot really, but since I'm not using Dropbox that much and the code I have works for me I never felt the need to update it lest build an add-on from it.
