Dropbox ?
Dropbox is a very handy service for keeping files in sync across multiple computers and it support Windows, Mac, and Linux. I have only tested in Windows so far, but I use Linux as well and might use Mac eventually as well; I would really like to have a share on my Readynas that automatically stays in sync with a folder on all my computers.
Does anyone know if Dropbox can be installed on the Readynas, and if an addon might be possible, if not does anyone know of another free service that can be installed on the Readynas?

- egeekAspirantI'm still keen. I would like an official plugin in the GUI to sync drop box. Twould be awesome.
- the_evaluatorAspiranti also think this would be a huge hit with the readynas community. i'm still willing to donate to anyone who packages this up.
- bbaraniecLuminaryWould love to see DB on ReadyNas. Willing to donate too.
Btw. if you don't have Dropbo yet, pm me for referral link. You will get +250MB on start :) - Super-poussin, I am willing to donate too.

- WhoCares_MentorSame problem as always: only works for the user created/specified. Setting up a Dropbox that way really is easy. The interesting part is to set it up for different users on the NAS, get them to register their instance and make this instances survive reboots.
-Stefan - bbaraniecLuminaryFollowing that instruction mentioned above I have only one question.
/c/dropbox should be folder to sync and /c/.dropbox should be folder with dropbox sources. I've started dropbox and linked it with my account.
Two issues thou:
1. /c/dropbox has another folder within called Dropbox where is all my stuff to sync. How to get rid off that another /Dropbox folder and simply sync to /c/dropbox?
2. /c/dropbox also has .dropbox folder with *.db and pid etc. How to move this to /c/.dropbox folder?
EDIT
Or maybe I should make /c/.dropbox home directory of dropbox user and mkae symbolic link /c/.dropbox/Dropbox to /c/Dropbox? So from Lan I could reach it \\nas\Dropbox. What would be better solution?
EDIT2:
Small workaround with samba shares did the trick ;) - the_evaluatorAspirantIt sure would be great if someone could package up an add-on. :?
- JohnnyEgnyteAspirantGoing to make a pitch for Egnyte here
Egnyte is a cloud file server similar to Dropbox.
It has similar file syncing features and is a supported partner add-on for the ReadyNAS.
Find more information about Egnyte in the latest ReadyNAS news article: http://www.readynas.com/?p=5768
If you have any questions, head over to the Egnyte add-on forums: http://www.readynas.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=146
~ Johnny - bbaraniecLuminaryTo be honest Egnyte is a bit to expensive for single user at least it is for me. I don't need 5 power users and 100 normal users and single file limitation in cheapest plan...
If you want to win single users think about plan for them. 20GB or even 10GB would be enough for me and one max two users.
