Dropbox not syncing

No, the syncing is not working either way. I've tried adding files from PC's, Macs and from the dropbox website. All other clients sync perfectly between each other but from and to the NAS nothing happens.
One thing I noticed at the initial installation of the Dropbox on the NAS and the initial transfer of files was that folders named with a ":" seemed to stall the file transfer. On Macs this seems to work fine, on PC's these folders did not show up but did not stall file transfer. When I renamed these folders the file transfer on the NAS resumed. Now, could there be other file types that would stall the file transfer?
