Dropbox traffic
Recently I found the dropbox was not working for my main user account.
The link was not lit up green and when I clicked on it, it suggested "null" rather than a web address. I started it, stopped it, upgraded to the latest edition and rebooted the NAS several times. Now it gives me a link and I have it working again.
Since then, I have noticed an increase in my network traffic and it is downloading approximately 56MB every 30 minutes at approx. :06 and :36 past the hour (confirmed with ntop). I have to pay $5 per GB for 9am-5pm download traffic, so this is annoying.
I have unticked the main (top left) checkbox and also stopped my personal dropboxes, but it continues.
I am just about to disable them as the green light is showing for enabled (but not running).
What is going on?

- dmahon1AspirantAnd how do I uninstall it?
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat version of the Dropbox add-on do you have installed?
- dmahon1AspirantIt was 2. something, recently updated to the latest (3.05?) when I turned auto update on. That seems to be when all the traffic started (either the update or trying to restablish the link).
I have got rid of the link to each user from within the users Dropbox online settings and have also removed it from the NAS (using the remove button, which I overlooked before). I have deleted the Dropbox folders from each user's home share.
The traffic has stopped. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredUnder Add-Ons > Installed what is the version of the Dropbox add-on installed? Is it 2.03 or something older?
- dmahon1AspirantIt's nothing now, it's been removed. It wasn't older than 2.03 though.
