DynDns really needed?

I have a question if I really need DynDns since my router have built-in this kind function, so I can access from WAN to my router and the to my NAS (if I open correct ports on router). So where DynDns plugin is helpful???

  • If your router has that function, use it & don't bother with any addon.

Not all routers do and as many people leave their NAS running 24/7, a DynDNS client on the NAS is often a good alternative instead of a PC base client
