I would like see a free/very low priced consumer oriented implementation that would give us something like our own personal 'dropbox' or 'drop.io' that points to our nas (using only our nas for storage, not using any 'cloud' storage or caching).
Where we can host private and public files that can be accessed through a standard http url and perferably also through android/iphone apps that can 'sync' files (selectable via app and/or config on nas).
For example, if I wanted to share some pictures or videos off my phone, I could point the android app to sync/copy those files to a public share and then I could text/email/post the applicable url to whomever I wanted to view those files.
In this manner I would not have to rely on facebook or numerous other hosting sites, I could just point my friends to the applicable url which loads the files/folders that I want shared straight off my nas using whatever home internet connection.
specifically, I would like to be able to share/access these files directly by url, eg;
http://customerurl.egynyte.com/sdfuo93jr/picture.jpg
without having to go through some web based filemanger type interface (direct download)
while also having a web view/manager for shared folder browsing (when not direct linked downloading).
