Error btrfs_root_node+38 what to do

I logged into my ReadyNAS and had a notification for an update. I downloaded and was directed to reboot. The reboot stopped at 43% and I am now receiving the following error message: "btrfs_root_nod...

The two files in the ReadyNAS are the only backup storage (i.e Raid 1 backsup to Raid 2). I am going to purchase an external harddrive and attempt to backup before doing anything. The ReadyNas is not detected on the RAIDar

I had read a post from a couple of years ago in which someone did a factory reset. Not sure if that is the route to go.

That will resolve the problem, but you will lose all the data.
