Failed to uninstall iredmail

I am once again perplexed by the number of thread here that have had the same problem.

I am also totally amazed that most users have had to do a factory reset - that is not possible in my case.  I have almost 4TB of data on this box.

There has to be someone who is responsible at Netgear for kicking the developer in the behind so that this app can be successfully installed and then uninstalled if and when it is desired.

If this basic functionality cannot be performed then the app should not be allowed on the website.

Any ideas from anybody?

  • What OS are you on?

If it is OS6... it might be that the directory is still present in the /apps folder.

If it is, it will be present in the list of installed apps but you will not be able to start it.

When I encountered that problem, I manually removed the /apps/iredmail folder.

You can check an repair this with ssh by using the web ssh interface.

You will have to enable ssh.

If you do not want to install the ssh web interface, you can also do this on your desktop or laptop using a terminal program such as putty.

You don't need to use SSH to remove that directory.

Browse to the following URL in your preferred browser, replacing [ReadyNAS] with the IP address or hostname of your ReadyNAS and replacing [volume] with your volume name (default “data”)
Note: Do not include the brackets [].  These are included for visibility.

                  https://[ReadyNAS]/admin/browse.html#path=%2F[volume]%2F.apps

Click on the iredmail directory and selection the option to delete it.
