Reports I've seen of this app have been less than favourable. Is it worth the hassle?

The file looks at first glance like a possibility if you have SSH available and are prepared to chase some shadows, but I have no idea what the dependencies are for the app, and how the included libs will appreciate being installed on to the older NAS OS.

If nobody gives you a decent follow up, I'll look closer at it in a few weeks, when the health is better.

it is because I use the samsung plexapp, and isn't possible to play mkv files with a compressed header, and the mkclean tool can easily remove it.
but as it is now have to move the file to my laptop to remove and the move it back to my nas.

If you map your share to a PC network drive letter, you can run mkclean from the PC without the copy. You are still reading/writing the file over the network, but you do avoid the nuisance of copying.

yes I know that, but it takes for ever. I would also like to be able to do it remote

Should I get my hopes up?
I would really love to be able to run a script on my download folder.
so that all new files would be run by this command

mkvmerge -o test.mkv --engage no_cue_duration,no_cue_relative_position broken_file.mkv

I would still love to see this on a Readynas Ultra so that it can be scripted with Transmission, so that my downloaded content automatically gets recode.
So I again can Watch it on my Samsung Plex Client
