Need Acces To NV+ v2
I have an old Netgear NV+ v2 which does not show the webinterface correctly. This is due to TLS1.0 incomaptibility I thought, but even with on old Windows XP system I get nothing. I can login, but that's it. I can't even access the shares as it asks for a password and nothing works...
I have bough a 2nd one to see if maybe the system was at fault, but alas, same issue.
Now my question is: in what way can I retrieve the files on these (4) disks? Is there newer NAS available that can read those disks and overcomes these password issues?
Is there a way to update the firmware of this NV+ from USB?
Any other ways? I am getting quite desperate and all my family stuff is on the NAS... Since this issue I have never relied on NAS anymore and went to cloud backups...

Are you sure it's a v2 (and not the original NV+)? Does it say "ReadyNAS NV+ v2" on the front panel?
As far as the admin web interface goes, the easiest way is to use FireFox and set security.tls.version.min to 1 (browse to about:config and search for the setting). You still will need to click-through the security, but you should get into the admin interface. Once in, there are some ways to get in with Chrome, Edge, and Safari - but the details depend on whether you have a v2 or not.
Accessing files is normally done with SMB/CIFs (windows file sharing). To get that working, you need to go into "turn windows features on or off" and then enable the CIFS / SMB 1.0 client. Then you can try accessing the shares using the NAS admin credentials. We can help more if you need that.
If you do have access to the web ui, you could also enable FTP access for all the shares, and then use WinSCP or FileZilla to copy off the files.
There are some other ways, but maybe try these two first.

I suspect you are not connecting to the admin page, but the shares page, because you cannot log into the admin page without a password. I believe you can connect to the shares page without a password, but you can't get to any shares without one.
So, it requiring a password is probably not your problem per se. You not remembering it likely is. An OS re-install will reset it, but we first need to make sure whether you have a "real" V2 or not, as the processes and default passwords differ between them.
