The previous thread was very long time to open a new one and prepare the 2.0 :)

not wishing to pressure you into it, but S-P is trustworthy. he's SSH'd into my box a few times to fix transmission issues. i do change my admin password though since my usual password is one i use for work purposes too - cant let that fall into the wrong hands ;)
i do understand your concerns though - i had similar ones the first time he requested SSH.
are you confident with SSH yourself? maybe SP could forward on the locations of transmission so you can perform a manaul removal? (i presume it's a simple case of delete files, rather than additions to existing files).
another thought nemo - i see your registered early '09. are you running the latest raidator firmware (4.1.6 i beleive)? that is a bit of a wild guess, but im thinking of an old library that isnt fully compatible with transmission. im not sure what the FAQ says, but if your are on an earlier version it might be worth taking a backup of your files, updating, and then starting from scratch in terms of readynas firmware. a reinstall would most likely fix your issue, but it is a drastic measure
