I was only clarifying, your question sort of indicated that there were alternative encryption methods in use. I'm honestly not up to date on exactly how the encryption works, but to keep snooping eyes out it would seam likely that you follow a set of rules and use a random salt, and simply trade the salt during initiation of the transfer.

Anyway, i guess "better" could mean reliably encrypted, in which case 2 is the only way to go. With any other option your going to have stuff that isn't encrypted.
