- Mr_BGuideThis is an issue pretty much everyone has with the transmission client as it comes packaged from super-poussin. sadly, it's like 10 months since we got an update, and as far as i understand it, this is simply due to super-poussin no longer having an arm platform to compile & test his stuff on.
@super-poussin:
Did you give up all together, or do you still expect to be able to release something for us in the future? Pretty much asking since with the time passed have let them add a few features to the client, amongst others magnet link generation. Now we need you to whip up a version that supports browsing for the files / directories, and creating a .torrent & the magnet link. Or we need to move on and find hardware where we can get these goodies. No pressure there ;- )
It's not said enough, so here goes. A big thank you for the time and effort you put in to the software we all take for granted. It's not like i'm able to download it from the transmission site, and get it to run on my NAS. I wouldn't even know where to start. To upload a bin to the NAS is about where my limit is.
Thank you.

@super-poussin:
I can understand DUO V1 & sparc are not the future and you can't focus on this old fashion deprecated NAS, though I've not planned to change mine in the next months. So just to avoid to throw all your work away, why not hand it over to the community with a HOW TO detailing compiler configuration & environment, deployment instructions, code modifications if any and code fork from transmissionbt.
Even if it's dirty! (dev projects are not almays super clean ;) ) this will make it still be alive.
Thanks - MysteryMan1AspirantSorry for a very basic question, but, I just want to make sure I am not wasting my time trying to get Transmission to work on my NetGear Duo.
It was working OK a few months ago (v2.22 of Transmission on Duo and Transmission GUI on PC) and then I changed my router and ISP. Now, I cannot get any torrents to download.
Should I be able to get Transmission working on this set up or should I give up until we get a new version?
If the answer is give up then what are the alternatives for downloading from these new magnet things.....new hardware, new application, use PC-based software, etc?
:? :? :? :?
Thanks! - sdouekGuidejust finished setting up v2.42 on OS 4.1.10 on a NA Duo v1 sparc, some issues with changing passwords but I am currently torrenting no problem.
- MysteryMan1AspirantOoh, that sounds encouranging - thanks!
- Mr_BGuide
I've been using 2.42 since super-poussin released the version for the ReadyNAS NV+ (v1) Some people have issues where the transmission client turns inactive, others have issues where it just wont start, and others have no issues at all. My issue? The NAS doesn't recognize that the service is infact started after a reboot. I have to use the web interface (Frontview) to turn the service off, and back on to be able to connect to it. It does however seed & download in this state. I've been using Transmission Remote to add, and remove stuff as needed.MysteryMan wrote: Should I be able to get Transmission working on this set up or should I give up until we get a new version?

Since i "never" shut down the NAS my issue isn't that big of an issue, and i sort of expect it to go away with a factory reset, it started showing up when i installed a mod to dim the LED's, for some reason.
B! - TMilandAspirantHow do i manually remove the addon? I have ssh access to the box...
I am currently unable to remove it from the frontview panel!
*Edit*bash /etc/frontview/addons/NAME-OF-ADD-ON.remove
:shock: - paulvkAspirantI've got the connection failed error, and I'm getting more and more disappointed about my purchase (readynas duo). Why is it so hard to create a simple, free bittorrent client? The client on the previous version of was excellent. Simple, but effective.
Anyhow. Are there any things left I could try?
Specs:
Model: ReadyNAS Duo [X-RAID]
Firmware: RAIDiator 4.1.10 [1.00a043]

viewtopic.php?f=60&t=67016 - c014AspirantI have installed transmission on my readynas ultra4.
But how do I get it to ask for password when I visit the webui?
I have changed the user and password in the config. Even tried to leave it blank.
But im not sure what it does, because it don't change anything what I can see.
I also set rpc-authentication-required to true.
Is this the only torrent addon for readynas? - c014AspirantThe addons-config folder that is created.
It's visible for everyone that logins with only guest account.
Is this really the way it should be?
I want this folder locked and hidden for users that are not supposed to see or change files in it.
