Plex Media Server (0.9.2.8)
Can anyone advise if an update allowing photos to be added to the Plex server is likely?
From what I can gather this was on previous Plex server versions (prior ReadyNas) but has been dropped on Server v9.
I would like to be able to hold my photo collection on the ReadyNas and view via PlexServer on my android mobile.
On the Plex videos work great - so I was surprised to see no photo capability!
(Or does anyone know of another way I could achieve this goal?)
Thanks
David

- sphardy1ApprenticeA photo library is not supported via the Plex Media Server the way Video and Audio is.
Instead, photos are either served from other applications via plugins (eg accessing an Aperture or iPhoto Library, or an online Flickr account etc), or in the client you can add network locations to serve images from.
Note however that at this time, PMS for Linux does not yet support plugins - a key limitation documented in the release notes. You would need to run PMS under OSX or Windows for that specific capability until it is enabled in the Linux port.
To add a location to serve photos from in the client, using the OSX client as an example:
- Go to Picture Plugins
- Press "C" to access the configuration Menu
- Select Add Source from the popup menu

Take a look at http://wiki.plexapp.com/index.php/Plex_iOS#Enabling_iOS_from_outside_of_your_home_network
I believe the steps for Plex Media Server on the ReadyNAS are the same for Plex Media Server on Mac (except of course when the steps ask you to do something to a Mac, you do it to the ReadyNAS instead). - nzregAspirantHello to everyone,
