Ready NAS NV V2 Unable too keep Remote Access Session
Hi All, Please help as i'm out of ideas how too sort this. I have been trying too setup my NAS Box so I can access this remotely. I get the same issues on 4 different devices, inc Windows, Mac,...
I haven't used readynas remote in quite a while. Would you consider abandoning it?
The alternative is so use FTP and FTP/s and forward ports in your router to the NAS. I then use FileZilla to access the files from my PC, and ES File Manager on Android.
iPad is more troublesome because of its (IMHO) brain-dead security model, but there are some apps with reasonable FTP support - including GoodReader. AVPlayerHD also includes an FTP client. Both support non-standard FTP ports.
Another option for the iPad would be to use a VPN, though I haven't explored that myself. You'd need a VPN facility in your router that was compatible with the client integrated into IOS.
