  • hello :) thanks for your help again

    i tried to change the readynas name , so now it's " data " so the path are :

    \\Data\Transmission\

    but the volume keep its name " RIPPER " , not able to change it apparently
    ------------

    so i uninstalled transmission , DESTROY transmission share , reinstall and still some error ... " not a directory "

    will try the ssh way to give more access tonight
  • this is all doesnt working with qbitorrent (im investigating why) qbitorrent try to save everything under /data/ volume wich isnt working with 'our' volumenames

    @anarchoid i did change the setting file .json , my nas is called Nasripper so i replaced "data" like this :
    /Nasripper/Transmission/Downloads
    /Nasripper/Transmission/incomplete
    this is the path i am able to use on total commander to access my shares , i tried to write and read file without problems .

    sorry but i am new to ssh and i don't know the login / password for telnet

    i updated the system to the last version way before that of course

    it seems i 've got the same problem with qbitorrent , maybe i bought the wrong nas for a start ...

    maybe try to remove and reinstall transmission

    the ssh user is root the password is same that u enter on web acess

    I tried to reinstall the client and edited via windows and that worked for me , but maybe just lucky with ssh u can check the permissions /owner of the dirs / files but i think a simple end user is not needed to know this things ;)

    I saw the official reaynas videos and noticed , on all video the volume name is simple data ..so if u / me / we creating the volume with name data all of this problem is not happening ;) so this is only for the netgear guy's fault ;(

    remember : u need to replace the 'data' with your volume name and not with your NAS's name !!!!!!

  • The solution of our problem is :

    Edit your settings.json and change both download and incomplete dir to a existing directory (my nas is named Ganesha :

    default:

    "download-dir": "/data/Transmission/Downloads",
    "incomplete-dir": "/data/Transmission/Incomplete",

    edited:

    "download-dir": "/Ganesha/Transmission/Downloads",
    "incomplete-dir": "/Ganesha/Transmission/Incomplete",

    and the transmission will work ;)

    hello guys , i got the same problem ,with an rn102 , so i modified the file settings.json and changed it to

    /Nasripper/Transmission/Downloads
    /Nasripper/Transmission/incomplete
    But now there is an error :
    Error: Permission denied (/Nasripper/Transmission/Downloads/xxxxxxxxxxx.mp4)

    thanks in advance for the reply

    hi from france :)

    telnet / ssh in your device and made a

    chmod -R 777 /Nasripper/Transmission

    this command grant every kind of permission for everyone on that dir recursive

    this is not too elegant but maybe working ;)

  • I found the solution ;)

    that /data/ dir is your nas's volume ;) my volume named `Ganesha` so if give the transmission for this location (and all other dirs also exists) :

    /Ganesha/Transmission/Downloads the downloads ill`be works ;)

    same settings working also with the other torrent client (qbittorrent)
