ReadyNAS Duo v2 network speed
Hello, I have never accessed the community before although I am a longtime ReadyNAS Duo v1 user. The NAS has been a very reliable servant for me, acting as file storage for my home business and also ...

Try another cable. If that doesn't help, try another port on your router/switch. If it is on a switch (especially a "green" one), then try connecting directly to your router. Or vice-versa.

Thanks for your quick responses and I should have expanded my trouble shooting a little futher. Yes, both the v1 and v2 are into the same switch and both show green so the gigabit is all good. I have already tried a cable swap as well as a different port in the switch with no change - I've been working on it for a couple of days! Fiddled around with trying to get the NTV550 to use NFS after making the v2 share only have that service but couldn't get it to scan anything that way, so back to trying to get SMB up to speed. If you have any advice regarding NFS, or can point me in the direction of a step by step guide to making NFS work, I could try that from the NTV. Thanks again.

What disks are you using in the v2?
Have you confirmed that the v2 isn't still syncing?
Have you also tried testing the transfer speed in a PC?

I don't recall any particular issues getting NFS to work - but I've never owned a v2 NAS, and it might be a bit different.
FWIW, while I have a NTV550 on the shelf, I'm actually still using my EVA9000 as our media player.
- TiltsinozNov 02, 2021AspirantThe HDDs are WD Red Plus Nas drives. I can run Nastester and post the logs BUT had a bigger problem yesterday with the power supply plug nearly igniting at the NAS socket so I'm not going to plug that in again. I'll get back onto this when I get a new power supply - second hand unit is starting to look a bit sick!
- TiltsinozNov 02, 2021AspirantThe power supply plug has been dodgy, with the unit being powered down if the plug was knocked. Also, it never started up properly, only starting the NAS without the HDD with one press on the power button. Holding the power button until the HDD started was how I thought it was meant to be! Maybe it wasn't providing enough power - could this possibly be a reason for poor Ethernet performance? I tried the v1 power supply and it started perfectly with one button press but the Ethernet speed hadn't changed unfortunately.
