ReadyNAS Remote Client wants to update and fails
I'm using the latest windows-client (1.6.5.11) and changed nothing on my windows machine nor an my NAS (running also the latest version) during the last weeks. Since yesterday the client tells me that an update has to be installed. When pressing the button "Upgrade Now", I am redirected to the page
http://www.readynas.com/download/remote ... eSetup.exe
This page/file does not exist! After that the client exits. When pressing the button "cancel" the client also exits.
Obvioulsly there does not exist an update, but I cannot use ReadyNAS Remote any more.
Has anyone else the same problem? Or even a solution?

- myqnasAspirantI am getting the same behavior with my NAS. Previously, Readynas Remote was working perfectly. This past week, it stopped working after the client tells me that "An update is required to continue to use ReadyNAS Remote. Please press "Upgrade Now" to upgrade to the latest version." The choices are to Cancel or Upgrade. Cancelling will just quit the client and Upgrade Now sent me to this link: http://www.readynas.com/download/remote/1.6.5.16/ReadyNASRemoteSetup.exe. It looks like a new version of the Remote client is available but I can find where to download from.
I have a ReadyNAS Duo running Raidiator 4.1.7 with Remote add-on v1.0.9.51 and Remote client version v1.6.5.11.
Does anyone have a solution? Thanks. - myqnasAspirantIf I ignore the upgrade message, I can login to the Remote client but am not able to see anything on the NAS.
- bell430AspirantOK, I found a solution. Obviously there were several client-versions published using the number "1.6.5.11".
I personally have the following clients versions (maybe there are even more):
V1.6.5.11, 2.369.576 Bytes, downloaded 17th Feb 2011
V1.6.5.11, 2.335.120 Bytes, downloaded 9th April 2011
The latter works fine. On the download page (https://remote.readynas.com/download.html), the latest version has a release date Feb 15th 2010. This is also wrong and should probably mean 2011.
Could someone from Netgear maybe please clean this up? It is very confusing and causes a lot of time to sort this out! - myqnasAspirantThanks bell430. I downloaded the client again and it is working for one of my login accounts. However, it does not work for two of my other Readynas Remote logins. I am able to login but cannot see the NAS. This is strange.
- y2krexAspirantdid anyone get an answer for this? the above fix did not work for me? i am still unable to access my readynas remotely ever since the client software prompted me to update? i am using windows 7 64 bit.
- ecarAspirantTry downloading and installing the legacy Leaf SW from here
http://www.leafnetworks.net/download.html
It worked for me. Just a workaround, though... - MaxKoNETGEAR ExpertFor now, please use previous version 1.6.5.11 which one you can download, here https://remote.readynas.com/download.html. We are working on issues and soon we will resolve it.
